Your Quinceañera Photo Timeline: When to Plan Every Moment

Gerald Photo Video

From booking to the last dance, here is when to plan every part of her quinceañera photography and film so nothing important is rushed.

Her quinceañera is a day your family will remember for the rest of your lives. The best photos and films come from a little thoughtful planning, so nothing important is rushed and every tradition gets the attention it deserves. Here is the timeline we share with the families we work with across Omaha, Lincoln, Council Bluffs and Des Moines.

Six to Twelve Months Before: Reserve Your Photographer and Videographer

Saturdays in spring and summer fill quickly, so reserve your date as soon as you have the church and the reception venue. Booking photography and videography with one team keeps the look of the gallery and the film consistent, and it means one timeline, one point of contact and one less thing to worry about.

Two to Three Months Before: The Pre-Event Portrait Session

A portrait session before the celebration is our favorite way to start. She can wear the dress and the crown without watching the clock, and we have time for elegant portraits in soft golden hour light. These images are also perfect for invitations, a welcome sign or a framed portrait at the reception.

The Week Before: Share the Details

A short planning call that week helps us capture everything that matters to your family. Have these details ready:

Mass time, church name and any photo guidelines from the parish

Reception venue, grand entrance time and the order of events

Names of the court, padrinos and family members for formal portraits

Special traditions you are planning, such as the shoe ceremony, the crowning or the last doll

The songs for the father daughter waltz, the court waltz and the surprise dance

The Day Of: A Sample Timeline

Every family celebrates differently, so we shape the day around your traditions. A typical flow looks like this:

Getting ready: hair, makeup, the dress and the details, like the crown, shoes and bouquet

Family portraits at home or at the church before Mass

The Mass and her blessing

Portraits with the court and the chambelanes

Grand entrance at the reception

Traditions: the shoe ceremony, the crowning and the last doll

The waltz with her father, followed by the court waltz

The surprise dance, the toast and the cake

Open dance floor and the last song of the night

After the Celebration: Your Gallery and Film

Your online gallery arrives beautifully edited and ready to share, followed by a cinematic highlight film and vertical reels made for Instagram and TikTok. Online galleries stay open for six months, so download your favorites early or ask us about a gallery backup option.
